connectNPO is a small team that builds and runs websites for nonprofits with budgets between about $250,000 and $1 million. We work remotely and in writing, and we build every site so the people who run the organization can keep it current without us.
A funder asks a small nonprofit for its Form 990. The director sends a PDF by email, because it is not on the website, and nobody has had time to touch the website since it launched.
connectNPO grew out of GivingArc, a nonprofit accounting practice we run alongside it. The two do not overlap: GivingArc keeps the books, and connectNPO builds the website the books end up on. What we kept seeing from the accounting side was the same scene: a filing that was ready, a site that could not show it, and a funder who had already formed an opinion.
The websites were not broken. They were built for launch day by a volunteer or an agency, and then left, because a staff of four has no developer and no time. So we started building the other kind: sites that stay current because staff can change them on one screen, with the paperwork on them from the first day.
Everything on this site is one team's answer to that scene. We do not give accounting, tax or legal advice here, and we say so wherever it could be mistaken for it.
We build what your team actually needs and can maintain, not bundled deliverables designed for invoices. Not included is written next to included, at the same size.
A search result opens a page; the page has to be current; the first thing a serious visitor looks for is the 990. Sold apart, each is half finished.
No jargon. If something cannot be explained simply on the page, it is not ready to be sold.
If we are not the right help for your organization, we say so in the reply and point you somewhere better. Organizations under about $50,000 usually hear that a free page builder is the honest answer.
Each of these is a line we hold on every page of this site and on every sample.
Web development, writing, design and the operations side, working remotely. Alongside connectNPO the same people run GivingArc, a nonprofit accounting practice; the two share an understanding of how a small nonprofit actually runs, and nothing else.
There are no names or portraits on this page, on purpose. The credential is the work: eight sample sites you can open, press and sign in to, and a pricing page that says what is included and what is not. If a site we built for you is ever what you show a funder, that is the reference we want.
We work with nonprofits anywhere in the US, in writing, on their time zone. There is no office to visit and no need for one.
