Five free videos

Your 990 has a story. We will turn it into a video.

Every dollar in your Form 990 was spent somewhere, on something your organization chose. We follow it: one program, what the money bought, what the year added up to. About a minute, made from your filing and your own pictures.

  • Free, for the first five nonprofits. No plan to buy, nothing to sign.
  • You see it first. If you like it, we ask to show it as an example of our work, with your name on it. If you would rather not, the video is yours anyway.
  • Send what you have, or nothing. Photos, phone clips, a two-minute voice memo from your director. If you have none, the video is your 990's own words and numbers, set on screen.
  • A written reply within one business day. No call needed.

How the story is found

The script comes from your filing, line by line.

We quote the 990; we do not interpret it. You confirm every number before anyone sees the video.

The examples are from Copper Ridge Animal Rescue, one of our sample sites. The organization and its figures are invented.

Copper Ridge is invented, so it has no photos of its own. This sample uses AI clips of its rooms and animals and free stock footage where a real organization’s photos would go. For your organization we use only the photos and clips you send.

Read the script instead (about one minute)

This is Hazel. She came to Copper Ridge Animal Rescue on the 28th of August, recovering from surgery on a back leg.

Copper Ridge is an old feed store on Mill Street. Three staff, one part-timer, and 85 foster homes. Last year, 612 animals came through its doors.

First stop: the vet. Vaccines, a microchip, and for Hazel, surgery. The average animal costs about $917, and one surgery can cost more than that on its own.

Next, Hazel needs a foster home. Three quiet weeks: no stairs, no jumping. The rescue sends her medication, a crate, food, and a ride to her follow-up visits if needed. Once she is listed, her foster family gets the first chance to keep her.

Last year, 571 animals were adopted. Hazel is still waiting for her foster home. Foster, adopt, or give monthly, so the vet can say yes to the next surgery without a phone call first.

Sample video. Copper Ridge Animal Rescue is invented and every figure is a sample. Stock footage (Pexels) stands in for the rescue’s own clips; the clips of Hazel, the feed store, its rooms and porch, and some of its animals are AI-generated. No one’s face is shown. The narration is a synthetic voice and the music is AI-generated. Made by connectNPO.

One program, one moment

Part III of the 990 names your largest programs in your own words. We pick one and start inside it.

SampleHazel, a small dog recovering from surgery on a back leg.
02

Follow the dollar

Part IX splits every expense into program, management and fundraising. Each line becomes a scene.

SampleThe biggest line is the vet: $214,000. Food and supplies: $41,000.
03

Say the overhead out loud

Running the place and asking for help is part of the work. The video says what it costs, plainly.

SampleAbout eighteen cents of each dollar. It is all in the filing.
04

End on what the year added up to

The measure your 990 already reports, and where to read the filing.

Sample612 animals came in; 571 were adopted.
The deal, in full

What you get, and the little we ask.

What you get

  • One story video, about a minute, wide and vertical, with captions.
  • Your director's voice if you send a memo; otherwise the words appear on screen.
  • Only your pictures. Every scene is a photo or clip you send. No AI-generated scenes, no stock footage.
  • One round of changes, and the finished files within one week of receiving your material.
  • One line of credit on the last frame: "Made by connectNPO". Nothing else of ours goes in your video.

What we ask

  • Permission to use what you send for this video and nothing else. You keep every right to your material and the video.
  • Consent from the people in it. Everyone identifiable has agreed to appear in a public video.
  • If you like it, permission to show it on connectnpo.com and our social accounts with your name. Ask us to stop and it comes down within five business days.
  • A short, honest comment afterwards, only if you want to give one. It is never a condition.
The rules we keep

A video about trust cannot cut corners on it.

Every number is yours

Only figures from your 990 or that you confirm in writing. Nothing rounded up, nothing invented.

Only your footage

No AI-generated scenes or people, no stock footage. What people see is your organization, from the photos and clips you send.

No children's faces

Whatever you send, a child's face is never shown.

You approve it

You read the script and watch the cut before anyone else does. Nothing is shared without your yes.

Questions
Why is it free?

We are new. We cannot show you work for other nonprofits yet, and we will not invent any. Five real videos, shared only with their organizations' permission, are how we earn the right to show our work.

Do we have to buy a website?

No. The video is not a trial of anything and comes with no follow-up sequence. If you want to talk about a website later, the pricing page has everything.

We have almost no photos. Can we still apply?

Yes. The story comes from your 990. With few pictures, the video leans on your filing's own words and numbers, set on screen; we never fill the gaps with AI scenes or stock footage.

Who can apply?

A 501(c)(3) that files a full Form 990 (not the 990-N postcard). One video per organization.

What if we do not want it shared?

Then it is not shared. You keep the video, and we do not mention your organization anywhere.

Is this advice about our 990?

No. We quote what the filing says and you confirm it. connectNPO does not provide legal, tax, accounting or Form 990 advice.
