Donation Page Examples: Eight You Can Press

connectNPO · Updated September 2026
Key takeaways
- A nonprofit donation page needs five parts: monthly or one time, a few suggested amounts plus a box for another amount, what each amount pays for, one button that states the whole gift, and a line on how the gift is acknowledged.
- The eight examples below are working donation panels on connectNPO’s sample sites, for invented organizations from a youth arts program to a food pantry. Every button can be pressed; the give button opens an email, and no card is taken.
- The suggested amounts come from each organization’s own costs: $44 a month is one student for a full year, $16 pays for one household’s weekly pantry visit, and $917 covers one rescued animal’s whole stay, on average.
- Three of the eight select monthly first and five select one time. In M+R Benchmarks 2026, monthly giving averaged 26.6% of online revenue across participants and 21.9% in the study’s smallest revenue group.
- Two of the eight offer a gift in honor or in memory of someone. Nonprofit Tech for Good reports that 46% of online donors give tribute gifts, while 19% of nonprofits worldwide offer a tribute giving option.
The donation page has had the same four buttons since the site launched: $20, $40, $80 and Other. A board member asks where those numbers came from, and no one remembers. An amount on a donation page can say something about your work, not only about the donor’s budget.
Advice about donation pages can be read as a list of rules. It is easier to decide what your own page should do by trying a few that already work, the way you would test-drive a car instead of reading its brochure.
These eight donation panels come from connectNPO’s sample sites. Each was built for a different kind of small nonprofit: a youth arts program, a scholarship fund, a community theater, a teen center, a youth soccer club, a counseling center, an animal rescue and a food pantry. The organizations are invented; the panels are real and can be pressed.
What should a nonprofit donation page include?
A nonprofit donation page should let a donor choose monthly or one time, pick a suggested amount or type another, see what that amount pays for, and press one button that states the whole gift. It should also say how the gift is acknowledged.
1
Monthly or one time
Two buttons, with one selected first.
2
Suggested amounts
Four amounts, one selected first, and a box for another amount.
3
What it pays for
A line per amount, in the organization’s own costs.
4
One button
It says the gift in full, such as Give $95 once, and changes with the choice.
5
After the gift
What the donor will receive, and when.

Suggested amounts tied to real costs
A price tag on a shelf tells you what you get for the money. A suggested amount can do the same. On the samples, the amounts are not round numbers picked for a menu; each comes from what the organization spends.
A donor reading “$16 is one household’s weekly visit” knows what the gift does without reading anything else. To choose your own, start from a real cost, such as a week, a season or a session, and round only as far as a donor can still picture it.

The button shows the full gift
A button that states the whole gift works like a cashier reading the total back before you tap your card.
On every sample, the button repeats the choice in full, and it changes as the donor changes the amount or the frequency. The donor sees exactly what will happen before pressing it.
Monthly, $44 chosen
Give $44 monthly →One time, $95 chosen
Give $95 once →Amount box left empty (Harborlight)
Enter an amountOn the Harborlight Youth Arts panel, clearing the amount box turns the button into “Enter an amount”, so there is never a button that cannot work.
Monthly or one time: which to select first
Each organization decides which frequency to select first. Three of the eight samples select monthly first; five select one time. Two of the three match the default amount to something that repeats: a year of classes, or a week of dinners.
For scale, the M+R Benchmarks 2026 study reports that monthly giving averaged 26.6% of participants’ online revenue, and 21.9% in its smallest size group, organizations with online revenue under $1 million. Read it as a reference point rather than a target.
A donation page like these comes with every connectNPO site
On the payment processor you already use, and refreshed each November for year-end giving. One plan, $180 a month.
Gifts in honor or in memory of someone
A gift in honor or in memory of someone is offered on two of the eight samples, Harborlight Youth Arts and Wren Valley Scholarship Foundation, as a checkbox on the panel; four others take one by email. In its guide to tribute giving, Nonprofit Tech for Good reports that 46% of online donors give tribute gifts (2024 Online Donor Feedback Survey) and that 19% of nonprofits worldwide offer a tribute giving option (2025 survey).
What happens after the gift
All eight sample pages say what follows a gift. Six promise a statement or giving summary each January; two promise a written acknowledgment after every gift of any size. A donor who knows what will arrive does not have to write and ask.
What a written acknowledgment must contain for tax purposes is set by the IRS in Publication 1771. connectNPO does not give tax advice, so ask your accountant what yours should say.
Try the eight donation pages
Every screen below opens the sample page it shows. Press the amounts and the monthly and one-time buttons. The give button opens an email instead of a payment page, because the organizations are invented. On a real site, the panel sends the donor on to the organization’s own payment page, on the processor it already uses.

Frequently asked questions
What should a nonprofit donation page include?
A choice of monthly or one time, a few suggested amounts and a box for another amount, what each amount pays for, one button that states the gift in full, and a line on how the gift is acknowledged. The eight examples on this page show each of these parts.
Should a donation form select monthly first?
It is a choice each organization makes. Of our eight samples, three select monthly first and five select one time. In M+R Benchmarks 2026, monthly giving averaged 26.6% of online revenue across participants and 21.9% in the smallest size group, organizations with online revenue under $1 million.
How should we choose suggested donation amounts?
Start from what your work costs, then round to an amount a donor can picture. On the samples, $44 a month is one student for a year, $16 is one household’s weekly pantry visit, and $95 is one player’s season. A donor reading the line sees what the gift does.
Is a tribute gift option worth adding?
Nonprofit Tech for Good reports that 46% of online donors give tribute gifts and that 19% of nonprofits worldwide offer a tribute giving option. Two of our eight samples offer one as a checkbox on the donation panel, and four others take one by email.
Can we try these donation pages?
Yes. They are on connectNPO’s sample sites for invented organizations. Every amount and frequency button works, and the give button opens an email instead of a payment page, so no card is ever taken.
See your finished website before you pay for it.
Your donation page is part of it. You pay the $1,000 build fee only once you approve the site; after that it is $180 a month.
